About Our School
With a breathtaking view of Pikes Peak, Rudy Elementary is proudly located in a northeast neighborhood of Colorado Springs. Built in 1978, and named for the first woman principal in Colorado Springs, Anna M. Rudy Elementary offers personalized learning through high quality instruction and technology integration for preschool through 5th grade students. We prepare students to be creative, collaborative, innovative, and flexible learners to meet the demands of the 21st century.
Rudy has a solid reputation for high academic standards and achievement along with a safe and welcoming school environment. Complementing our academics, we offer Music, Art, Physical Education, Band and Orchestra. Gifted and Talented and Special Education programs are available for those who qualify. Additionally, we offer on-site daycare for before and after school, as well as many extended day opportunities for students to be involved: Student Council, Choir, Sports Challenge, Battle of the Books, Typing, STEAM and Computer, and the YES club. Our active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organizes school cultural and social events to involve our families and community.
Rudy embraces the Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) program. We build meaningful, productive relationships with every student and every colleague. We have a safe, supportive and rigorous learning environment where students and staff are respectful, responsible, and resourceful community members.
Students may arrive 10 minutes early when there is supervision on the playground. When the first bell rings they are to line up by their classroom door and the teacher will greet them there. Students should not be in the building until the first bell rings.
Inclement Weather Days -
The calendar may indicate it’s Spring, but we live in Colorado and so we can always anticipate more snow this time of year. To better alert students when they are to come inside in the morning, we will be hanging a green flag on the flag-pole. When you see the green flag, please send your child straight into the build-ing
